What is Viscose Yarn
Viscose is one of the most used semi-synthetic fabric in the industry. It is a type of a rayon fabric which comes from wood pulp, and is often used a silk substitute, due to similar feel and texture. It is a versatile fabric and serves its purpose in clothing items like blouses, dresses, and jackets.
The yarn has gained popularity due to its low cost of production, silk-like feel, and cotton-like texture, which has more dyeability and makes it ideal for women apparels. Viscose shares some properties and cotton, which is why it is often used as a substitute for cotton.
How is Viscose Manufactured
Viscose comes from tree wood pulp of various plants like beech, pine, and bamboo. The plant is chipped, and wood pulp is extracted from it, by dissolving it in sodium hydroxide. Mixing with sodium hydroxide leads to formation of brown wood pulp, which is then washed, cleaned, and bleached.
To form Viscose fibers, this brownish pulp is treated with carbon disulphide, and then dissolved in sodium hydroxide to create the solution referred to as “viscose.” This solution is then processed through a spinneret, which makes it more fibrous. The final step is to convert this into a yarn, which can then be woven or knit into viscose rayon fabric.
Advantages of Our Viscose Yarn
Viscose is ideal for lightweight clothes, and other breathable garments. It gives a nice drape with a luxurious feel and lustrous finish. Some of the key benefits of our Viscose Yarn are as follows:
Absorbent
Viscose is known for being very lightweight, and fresh. This property is mainly due to huge chunks of spaces between fibers. This also makes it easy to absorb moisture and sweat, making it perfect for t-shirts and athletic wear.
Breathable
Our high-grade Viscose Yarn is very breathable and light fabric that doesn’t stick to the body, making it optimal for warm weathers. Similar to cotton, Viscose feels very light on the body and doesn’t make you feel suffocated and wicks away sweat.
Dyable
Viscose is easily dyable, which is why it is used often in kids and women’s apparel. It can even hold the dye for a long time without fading away. Moreover, Viscose garments can be dyed using premium colors and high-grade dyes which look lustrous on it.
Adaptable and Long-term
Viscose does not get damaged by weak acids like detergents, so it is safe to be washed by machines. Viscose is firmly packed and rough washing or machine washing does not damage the fabric. Viscose also blends with most of the modern-day fabrics; in fact, Viscose is blended with spandex to make it flexible.
Cost-Effective
Viscose is very cost effective for textile and garment manufacturing businesses as its pre-production cost is very low due to the abundance of common chemicals. Its production to selling margin is very high that is why most manufacturers and producers go for Viscose nowadays.
Good For Draping
Our Viscose Yarn is perfect for draping. It holds its shape and makes it easy for designers or manufacturers to adjust accordingly. Viscose is also used in curtains due to this property.
Soft
Viscose is very soft on the skin and gives a luxurious feel when touched. For this reason, Viscose is most commonly seen being used as mattress covers, and mattress protectors. It is also used in cooling sheets, which help remove body heat, and helps in good sleep.
