How to Change Gmail Password

Are you in a situation where you do not know how to change your Gmail password? If your Gmail account is over five years old and you have forgotten the new password, there are a few ways to get into the account. In this article, I will give you two methods that will work for most of us that do not know how to change passwords. Both methods have their pros and cons.
First Step:
The first method is to use a strong password on all of your Gmail accounts. There are a number of tools online that will help you create a strong password. After you have done this you will need to go to the Settings area and set up a two-step verification process. You can also change your Google homepage from the main page by clicking on settings > account and then selecting Change Gmail. This will allow you to choose which homepage you want to use.
Once you have done this you should go ahead and click on the Change Gmail button. This will bring up the login area and you will need to enter in your current password. You will see the option for changing your current password. Click on the link for the strong password you created previously. When you type this in, you will be prompted with a dialog box asking for your new password. You will then be asked to verify your email address.
Second Step:
The second method is to reset the Gmail password by going to the settings icon and clicking on the recovery tab. You will be prompted with a recovery code. Enter the code in the field box and follow the onscreen instructions to reset your password. If you have entered the incorrect recovery code, you will see an error message.
Third Step:
The third and final way how to change Gmail password is to get into the account's settings and find the Account drop-down menu. Select the User drop-down menu and click on Create New Password. A new window will appear with a New password pop-up. Type in the new password you just typed in and hit the Save button. When you are done, the window will automatically close.
The way how to change Gmail password is to repeat the steps mentioned in the previous methods. Once you have done that, Google will prompt you for your new password. You will then enter this into the field provided on the pop-up page. When you are done entering in your new password, you will see a verification message stating that your account has been changed and that your password is now successfully saved in the Google account you specified when you created the new account.
It is also possible to reset the password of a Gmail account by clicking on the Gmail settings icon located at the top right corner of the main page. You will see this icon if you are viewing your email in the main page. This icon will be blue with a gear in between two lines. Simply click on the gear in the left part of the icon, and a message will appear with the option to Change password. Clicking on the option will give you the option to either update your current password or to change it.
Final Step:
The third and final step on how to change Gmail password is to click on the Change your password button. A new page will appear with a New password pop-up. Here, you type in the new password you have just chosen and hit the enter key on the keyboard to confirm your choice. After you have typed in your new password and hit the enter key several times, the page will refresh and will display a Success message. Follow the on-screen instructions given on the Success message to complete the process.
