Marvin Bower Biography:
Marvin Bower was an American business management expert and consultant. He was born on August 1, 1903 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He studied in Glenville High school, Cleveland, Ohio. He acquired the bachelor degree in Economics and Psychology from Brown University in 1925. On his father’s advice he completed his studies in Harvard Law School in 1928 and later graduated from Harvard Business school in 1930. Thereafter, he served as an associated at Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue an international law firm located in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1933, he switched over to manage the then new branch of James O.McKinsey & Co., in New York. On the demise of Mc Kinsey in 1937, the New York branch got delinked and grew up successfully under the aegis of Marvin Bower. The new branch was named as McKinsey & Co and flourished well with Marvin Bower as its Managing Director 1950 to 1967. He continued to be among the top brass and director/partner till 1992.
